Head Coach - Rocco Mossuto
Rocco Mossuto is the Head Coach of Midwest Prep Academy Baseball program.
Mossuto’s coaching career includes five collegiate baseball seasons as Head Coach with the St. Xavier University Cougars before coming to Midwest Prep. Coach Mossuto spent 4 seasons as the assistant on the St. Xavier coaching staff. Prior to the successful seasons at St. Xavier, Mossuto has coached at Illinois Tech, Dominican University and Marian Catholic High School.
Rocco Mossuto is only the 4th head coach in the rich 47-year history of St. Xavier baseball program. In 2016, coach Mossuto led the St. Xavier team to their first ever CCAC tournament championship then qualifying for the NAIA Baseball World Series Tournament. In 2019 the Cougars also won the CCAC advancing to the national tournament for the second time in 4 years with Mossuto receiving CCAC Coach of the year honors. Also, the Cougars won 14 All-CCAC Team awards, Seven CCAC Gold Glove Team awards, one Rawlings- NAIA Gold Glove Team honor, a CCAC Player of the Year and All American. Mossuto has coached several players that have gone on to play professional baseball.
While guiding the St. Xavier University baseball program, 66 players have been named to the CCAC All-Academic Team and 12 players have earned the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award and 2 Cosida Academic All Americans. Coach Mossuto is one of the most respected figures in college baseball with one of the powerhouse baseball programs in the NAIA.
Rocco played at St.Xavier University where he was the CCAC Pitcher of the Year, Freshmen of the Year, and a NAIA All-American Honorable Mention selection. Mossuto was also an All-CCAC Team honoree. After graduating, He played one season of professional baseball overseas with the Italian Professional Baseball League.
